Becca Mather Counselling
Counselling that meets you gently where you are, and helps you move with compassion towards where you want to be
Hi there, I am Becca and I help people who are done putting themselves last.
I am a BACP Counsellor working online and in person in North Shields. Whilst I have a special interest in maternal mental well-being, I work with people from all walks of life who are feeling deeply overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected.

I am also a human being, with lived experience of anxiety, burn out and depression and a mum who struggled in pregnancy with shame and guilt. I understand how heavy life can feel you're trying to keep it together,

My approach to therapy is real, warm and deeply relational, as i believe healing happens when you are truly seen, heard and validated without judgement or interruption.

Does this sound familiar?

You're carrying so much, trying to hold it all together. From the outside, it might look like you're coping, but inside it feels heavy, messy and loud. You're tired of feeling not good enough, like you're failing and now enough is enough.

-
You cant relax - you're spiralling with negative thoughts
-
You feel guilty saying no, even when you're burnt out and exhausted
-
You keep showing up for everyone else and putting your needs last
-
You second guess everything - what you said, how you've said it and worrying if you've upset someone
-
You're feeling like you should be able to handle things , but each day feels like you're drowning

It doesn't have to be this way anymore. Therapy can be a space where you get to bring it to the surface - the people pleasing, the overwhelm, the self doubt and be met with compassion instead of pressure. Together, we can begin to untangle what's going on underneath it all, and move forward at your pace to something that feels calmer, clearer and you can regain the steadiness you've been craving.
If you're reading this and it is resonating, you do not have to wait for things to get worse.

You deserve support that feels safe and rooted in self compassion, somewhere you can come and be heard, pause, be yourself and not have to hold it all together. Therapy with me is a safe space where you can explore what's going on beneath the overwhelm, and begin to work though it, one step at a time.
So, Whats next?
If this sounds good, drop me an Email and I can arrange a 20 minute telephone call with you. This is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions and see if I am the right counsellor for you.
