Hi there, I'm Becca and I help mums and mums-to-be transition into motherhood, as they go through the emotional, mental and identity shifts of becoming a mum, so they can feel grounded, calm and connected again.

I became a mum back in 2017 where I suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. After the birth of my daughter, I experienced postnatal depression and being a mum gave me a sense of purpose in me and  I had always had an interest in psychology so I enrolled in a college course in counselling skills. In the final year of my Foundation Degree, I fell pregnant with my second child. Suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum again, but this time being bed bound for 4 months , I decided to choose to work with mums who were just like me

Motherhood changes everything and yet somehow you're expected to still feel the same way. Matrescence is name for the transition into motherhood. It is the shift from who you were before your baby and who you are becoming now.

Many mums arrive here feeling lost, disorientated, stressed, anxious and grieving the person they once were. Others feel ashamed for struggling and believing they should be coping better by now. If this is you, I want you to know nothing has gone wrong and you are not a failure - this is Matrescence and it is so often unsupported - this changes now.

In our work together, we gently explore the identity shifts that Matrescence and early motherhood brings:

  • Emotional regulation & Stress management- reduce anxiety, overwhelm and self criticism

  • Re-mothering yourself- learning to nurture, validate and protect the younger version of you

  • Unpacking childhood patterns- understanding how family dynamics, trauma, and learned coping strategies shape your parenting

  • Body awareness & embodiment- reconnecting with your body after birth

  • Identity exploration - shedding outdated versions of yourself and reclaim autonomy

  • Relationship navigation -understanding shifts in your relationships and support

  • Parenting from presence, not pressure - moving from survival mode into concious, compassionate engagement

If you feel on edge, tearful, shut down or like you're always holding it together, you're not failing you're nervous system is doing what it needs to to survive. Motherhood places huge demands on us. Nervous system regulation isn't about getting it right or calming down its about your system feeling safe enough. In our work together, we support your nervous system to move out of survival mode, at a pace that feels manageable  for you. When your body feels safer, everything else, emotions, thoughts and relationships become easier to navigate.
